District-Level Bicycle Distribution Committee Meeting Held Under Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner

Dhanbad, July 14, 2025 – A meeting of the District-Level Bicycle Distribution Approval and Monitoring Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Shri Aditya Ranjan in the office chamber of the Collectorate. The meeting focused on the free distribution of bicycles to Class 8 students from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minority, and Backward Class communities. During the meeting, District Welfare Officer Shri Niyaz Ahmad presented a proposal for the approval of bicycle distribution among a total of 4,794 eligible students. The proposal was duly approved under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shri Aditya Ranjan stated that the free bicycle distribution scheme will greatly assist students in commuting to school, ensuring regular attendance and reducing travel-related challenges. He added that the state government is running various schemes to improve access to quality education, and students should make the most of these opportunities and strive to excel academically. He also directed the District Education Officer and District Superintendent of Education to ensure that students who are currently left out due to lack of caste certificates are provided with the necessary documentation so they too can benefit from the scheme. Present at the meeting were District Education Officer Shri Abhishek Jha, District Superintendent of Education Shri Ayush Kumar, and other concerned officials.
