Dhanbad, August 18: After eight long years, the much-discussed Neeraj Singh murder case is finally approaching its conclusion, with the court set to deliver its verdict on August 27, 2025.
In anticipation of the judgment, the Dhanbad district administration has heightened security measures across the city. Heavy police deployment has been ordered in and around the court premises to prevent any untoward incident. Additional magistrates will also be on duty for crowd management on the day of the verdict.
The case dates back to 2017, when former Deputy Mayor Neeraj Singh was brutally gunned down in broad daylight, sending shockwaves across Jharkhand’s political circles. Several prominent political figures were named during the investigation, making the case one of the most high-profile trials in the state.
Locals and the victim’s family have been anxiously awaiting justice for years. “This verdict means everything to us. We just want closure and fair judgment,” a family member said.
Given the political sensitivity of the case, security agencies are keeping a close watch, as the verdict is expected to draw intense public and media attention not just in Jharkhand but nationwide.
