Dhanbad. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mr. Lokesh Barange has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) within a 100-metre radius of all examination centres in view of the upcoming Matriculation and Intermediate Examinations–2026, scheduled to commence from 3 February 2026.
The prohibitory orders will remain in force from 12:00 midnight of 2 February 2026 and will continue on each examination day till the conclusion of the examinations.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate stated that, as per the directions of the Jharkhand Academic Council, Ranchi, the district administration has taken stringent measures to ensure the peaceful, fair and malpractice-free conduct of the annual Secondary (Matric) and Intermediate examinations in Dhanbad district. Accordingly, prohibitory orders under BNSS Section 163 have been enforced within a 100-metre perimeter of all examination centres.
During this period, assembly of unnecessary crowds, loitering, use of loudspeakers, carrying of arms, roaming without purpose, distribution of examination-related papers or materials, and any activity likely to compromise the confidentiality of the examination process have been strictly prohibited.
The Annual Secondary (Matric) Examination will be conducted from 3 February to 17 February 2026 at 96 examination centres from 9:45 AM to 1:00 PM. The Intermediate Examination (Arts, Science and Commerce) will be held from 3 February to 23 February 2026 at 81 examination centres from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate has directed all patrolling magistrates, static magistrates, Circle Officers, Block Development Officers, police officers, inspectors, station house officers and outpost in-charges to ensure strict enforcement of the prohibitory orders.
