New Delhi: Addressing the joint sitting of Parliament at the start of the Budget Session, President Droupadi Murmu said that the government is reshaping policies to meet the demands of the future, asserting that “old rules are being changed keeping in mind future needs.”
Highlighting the government’s reform-driven approach, the President said India is moving rapidly on the path of the “Reform Express,” aimed at accelerating economic growth, strengthening governance, and improving ease of living for citizens.
In her address, President Murmu outlined key priorities including infrastructure development, digital governance, social justice, women empowerment, youth employment, and strengthening India’s global leadership role. She emphasized that reforms across sectors such as education, health, manufacturing, and technology are laying the foundation for a developed India.
The President also underlined the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, welfare delivery through technology, and boosting innovation-driven entrepreneurship. Her address set the tone for the Budget Session, during which crucial legislation and economic policy decisions are expected.
Political observers noted that the speech signaled the government’s intent to push forward with transformative reforms while preparing India for long-term global competitiveness.
