Dhanbad’s IIT ISM witnessed a vibrant celebration as Kartavya marked its 14th annual event ‘Prakash 26’ at the Penman Auditorium. More than 800 students from Kartavya centres and leading schools across the city participated, showcasing their creativity through science exhibitions, poster presentations, singing, drama and dance performances.
Municipal Commissioner Mr Ashish Gangwar, the chief guest, lauded Kartavya’s efforts in nurturing young minds and encouraged students to remain consistent in their studies while focusing on innovation and fresh ideas. He said such platforms boost confidence and prepare children for future challenges.
Presiding over the programme, IIT ISM Director Prof Sukumar Mishra described ‘Prakash’ as a symbol of awareness, responsibility and social change, adding that it reflects the institution’s commitment to society. He inspired students to dream big while staying grounded.
SAIL CGM (CCSO) Mr Rajiv Tiwari termed Kartavya a “dream initiative” that brings happiness and positive transformation through education and social service. Deputy Director Prof Dheeraj Kumar welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of student-driven social responsibility initiatives.
The programme began with the Kartavya introduction followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting. District Education Officer Mr Abhishek Jha, faculty members, officials and Kartavya volunteers were also present on the occasion.
