Award-cum-Honour Ceremony Organised for Pre-Board Examination, 691 Students Felicitated

Dhanbad district organised an Award-cum-Honour Ceremony at New Town Hall on Friday, January 10, 2026, to encourage students who performed excellently in the Pre-Board Examination conducted for Matric and Intermediate Annual Examination 2026, under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Aditya Ranjan.

A total of 691 students securing first, second and third positions in the Pre-Board examination were felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, Deputy Development Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Officer. Teachers of well-performing schools and officials of the Education Department were also honoured for their contributions.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Mr. Aditya Ranjan said that the programme aims to motivate students for better performance in the upcoming board examinations. He announced that toppers of the second Pre-Board examination, scheduled from January 15, would also be honoured at the district level.

He further informed that final board examination toppers would be taken on Jharkhand Darshan, while the top 30 students would be sponsored by the district administration for an educational tour to Delhi. He praised the efforts of the Education Department and expressed confidence that Dhanbad would achieve top rank in the state.

Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Prabhat Kumar said that Dhanbad currently stands at 13th position in the state but aims to secure the first position this year. He advised students to use mobile phones and the internet judiciously and avoid distractions from social media.

Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Sunny Raj emphasised that every student has the potential to perform well and urged teachers to focus on weaker students to ensure overall improvement.

Municipal Commissioner Mr. Ashish Gangwar encouraged students to manage time effectively and appear for exams without fear, while Sub-Divisional Officer Mr. Lokesh Barange highlighted the importance of using technology positively for study purposes.

District Education Officer Mr. Abhishek Jha, District Education Superintendent Mr. Ayush Kumar, along with other officials and teachers, were present on the occasion.
