Dhanbad’s Sadar Hospital, located at the heart of the district, has achieved remarkable progress in healthcare services with a 207% growth over the past three months. This achievement has been made possible due to the continuous efforts, monitoring, and encouragement of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Mr. Aditya Ranjan.
With significant improvements in facilities, the hospital is now serving an average of 571 patients per day. In June, 10,620 people visited the hospital for various treatments, which rose to 19,916 in July and further to 22,013 in August. In total, 52,549 patients benefited from hospital services in just three months.
OPD and Dialysis Services

June: 6,797 OPD patients, 701 dialysis, 100 normal deliveries, and 1,544 sample tests

Inpatient and Other Services
The IPD numbers increased from 847 in June to 2,311 in July, reaching 2,948 in August.

Additionally, the SNCU treated 78 newborns, DCHC treated 6 patients, and Ayushman kits were distributed among 12 patients. Emergency services attended to 38 cases in three months. Family planning operations (9), orthopedic cases (3), 42 major surgeries, and 104 minor surgeries were also performed.
Advanced Facilities Introduced
Expressing satisfaction over the hospital’s growth, DC Mr. Ranjan said that the administration is committed to providing the best healthcare to the people of the district. He announced that free diagnostic services such as liver profile, kidney profile, lipid profile, pancreatic enzyme tests, serum calcium, LDH, and hematology tests are now available.
The hospital laboratory has been upgraded with modern equipment including high-quality biochemistry semi-automatic analyzers, electrolyte analyzers, HD biosensors, ELISA machines, and two complete blood count machines.

Sadar Hospital now provides specialized care in orthopedics, medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, pediatrics, psychiatry, gynecology & obstetrics, physiotherapy, and ENT. Doctors are available in three shifts for both gynecology and general emergencies.
