Renowned academic and social activist Dr. Sonajharia Minz from Ranchi has once again brought pride to Jharkhand and India. A Professor of Computer Science at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, and former Vice-Chancellor of Sido-Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka, Dr. Minz has been appointed to a prestigious role as UNESCO Co-Chair.
She will serve as Co-Chair at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, under the UNESCO Chair in Transforming Engineering Knowledge Research Governance and Rematriation, for a four-year term.
In this role, Dr. Minz will work to preserve and strengthen indigenous languages, culture, and heritage on a global platform. This initiative will give India’s, and particularly Jharkhand’s, tribal communities a stronger identity and voice for their rights. Her achievement serves as an inspiration for tribal youth in the state to aim for higher goals.
