Dhanbad: In a bid to tackle rising traffic congestion, Dhanbad Traffic Police has intensified its efforts to streamline the city's traffic system. On Wednesday, Traffic DSP Arvind Kumar Singh held a key meeting with traffic officials to review the situation and strategize improvements.
Focusing on choke points like Bank More, Gaya Bridge, Old Bazar, Puja Talkies Chowk, City Centre, Hirapur, and Station Road, the DSP issued strict instructions to reduce jams and enforce traffic rules more strictly.
Officials were directed to:
Seize roadside parked vehicles
Penalize rule violators via online challans
Take action against autos and e-rickshaws flouting norms
Crack down on black-tinted windows, fancy plates, triple riding, and modified silencers
Vehicle owners who fail to pay online challans will face seizure and legal proceedings.
Expressing concern over road accidents, the DSP urged strong preventive measures and sought public cooperation to ensure a smoother and safer traffic system across Dhanbad.
