Rajgir | International Sports Meet to Boost Youth and Sports Culture in the State
In a historic first for Bihar, the Asia Rugby (Under-20) Championship 2025 will be held on August 9 and 10 at the campus of the State Sports Academy-cum-Bihar Sports University in Rajgir. This prestigious event will witness the participation of 16 teams from 9 countries.
Alongside host nation India, teams from China, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Nepal will compete in the championship. The event is set to bring global attention to Bihar and offer young players an international platform to showcase their talent.
In a ceremonial event held today at 1, Anne Marg in Patna, the championship’s official mascot and logo were unveiled. The occasion was graced by Rugby India President and renowned actor Mr. Rahul Bose, who applauded Bihar’s growing commitment to sports.
This landmark event is expected to give a major boost to sports culture in the state and strengthen its sports infrastructure. It also reflects Bihar’s readiness to host international-level competitions and empower youth through sporting opportunities on national and global stages.
