Congress MP Sanjana Jatav raised serious concerns in the Lok Sabha today regarding irregularities in the central government’s flagship Jal Jeevan Mission. She alleged that while water tanks have been constructed under the scheme in many areas, there is no actual water supply, leaving the public to suffer despite tall claims on paper.
Highlighting alleged collusion between officials and contractors, Jatav said that in several locations, work exists only in official documents, while ground realities tell a different story. She further accused authorities of indulging in massive corruption, using substandard materials, and compromising the quality of work.
The MP demanded that the government initiate an independent investigation into the projects executed under Jal Jeevan Mission and take strict action against those responsible for corruption and negligence.
Her statement sparked strong reactions in the House, bringing the focus back to transparency, accountability, and the implementation of public welfare schemes.
