Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tamil Nadu on July 26–27, immediately after returning from his overseas tour. On July 26 in Tuticorin, the PM will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate development projects worth over ₹4800 crore, enhancing air, rail, road, port, and power infrastructure.
Key highlights include the inauguration of a new terminal at Tuticorin Airport, launch of port cargo facilities, multiple national highway upgrades, electrified and doubled rail routes, and the launch of an inter-state power transmission system for the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant.
On July 27, in Tiruchirappalli, PM Modi will participate in the Aadi Thiruvathirai Festival and commemorate 1000 years of Rajendra Chola I’s maritime expedition to Southeast Asia. He will also release a commemorative coin and mark the legacy of the Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple, a Chola-era UNESCO World Heritage site.
