Dhanbad, July 24, 2025 — In a proactive move to address the growing issue of stray cattle on roads, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Shri Aditya Ranjan convened a key meeting with the Gaushala Committee at the Collectorate Auditorium today.
During the meeting, the Municipal Commissioner apprised the DC of the challenges posed by stray animals across various parts of the city. Representatives from different cow shelters also shared their concerns and suggestions.
Highlighting the seriousness of the matter, the DC noted that stray cattle often lead to traffic congestion and road accidents, resulting in the tragic loss of human lives and livestock. He announced that a special drive would be launched to relocate such animals to nearby cow shelters. Additionally, individuals found deliberately abandoning their cattle on roads will face monetary penalties.
The DC also directed the Municipal Commissioner to initiate construction of additional sheds in gaushalas to accommodate stray cattle.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Shri Raviraj Sharma, Sub-Divisional Officer Shri Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Shri Prakash Kumar, and several representatives from local guaushalas.
