Chirkunda: On Monday, a girl from Kalimandi locality, who had gone to fetch water at the Disergarh ghat in West Bengal, was allegedly molested by a group of 8–10 youths.
Chirkunda police reached the spot after receiving information and managed to arrest two of the accused, while others fled.
The girl stated in her complaint that she was with her cousin when the incident took place. Based on her statement, police registered a case and are searching for the remaining culprits. The arrested individuals are said to be residents of Subhash Nagar.
