Tundi (Dhanbad) A man from the Bisinitaar area of Tundi has been sent to jail on Monday for allegedly raping his sister-in-law's sister (sarhaj) under the false promise of marriage.
The incident came to light when locals caught both the man and the woman in a suspicious condition near Lohdariya on Saturday and handed them over to the police.
The woman, who hails from the Manjhidih police station area and is a mother of three, had been married for the past 12 years in the Narayanpur area of Jamtara district.
The accused had frequent visits to the woman’s home as he is the husband of her sister-in-law. During this time, he developed a relationship with her and promised to marry her. Trusting him, the woman continued the relationship.
Two days before the arrest, they had a phone conversation, after which the woman left her house along with her youngest daughter intending to marry him. However, villagers caught them as soon as she arrived in Tundi.
Following the woman’s complaint, the man was arrested by the police and produced in court, which sent him to jail.
